Care and Washing Instructions

Pieces of cyanotype clothing are handmade items that require special care and attention. Cyanotype prints are archival and permanent, however they can fade over time. By following a few simple tips, you can extend the life of your garment's vibrant print. Treat it like the artistic masterpiece that it is.

Keep washing to a minimum if possible. Hand-washing only is recommended. Turn your item inside out and do not use detergent containing phosphates, bleach, or sodium. Air dry or tumble on low heat. Do not dry in direct sunlight. Overwashing may cause the print to fade. If fading occurs over time, washing the print in a diluted bath of hydrogen peroxide can help restore it to its original intensity.
